Even though I don't use photoshop to color, I'm saving this in my tutorials folder! It might come in handy (I suck at doing hair).

Lol. I hope this tutorial translates to other programs, I tried to explain it without going overboard on the photoshop jargon. I personally think that Hair is a lot easier to color if the line art has already defined it a bit with drawing out the indivual strands. I don't know how some of those other artists do it with very little line art. And you don't suck at doing hair...I've always thought your hair looked pretty good :D

I can understand about the strands, but whenever I draw hair that way it always seems to turn out looking wrong. I'll have to do some more practicing. :XD:

Draw how you are comfortable drawing...there is no right or wrong way... I've always thought your hair looked great. You especially gotten really good at blonds, something I still loath attempting. I just had a few people ask about how I did my hair....however I would not consider my way the deffinitive path for hair. Especially when you consider that your work always tends to look more realistic than mine...mine is still very cartoony...so I don't think my way would go well with a more realistic approach. But I'd be interested to see it tired. ;)

Thank you very much for sharing that with us. This is one of the things that make deviantART such a cool community.

I'm fascinated by how well thought out your creative process is. You seem very meticulous. I usually stampede through the whole thing like a drug-crazed water buffalo.

A drug-crazed water buffalo? Wow, you wouldn't be able to tell it by your art....you must be able to clean it up when all is said and done, because it always looks nice. I would have never have guessed stamped...
Thanks, I am glad you like the tutorial...I think this one of the main advantages over other art communities is the reasources.

I have no discipline and no patience, so basically, if my stuff works, it works, if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. That's my "method". ^^;

Hair is a painful experience with the coloring, I understand :D It helps to have line art that already kind of defines the hair. :D
